Gluten Free Oats are back!! Yea!! Since we ran out we’ve had a lot of questions about when we would have gluten free oats again. After hearing about some apparant problems with the Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Oats we decided to search for alternative sources to ensure that we could obtain pure gluten free oats and be confident that they are truly certified gluten free. The great news is we now have an awesome gluten free oat that we have available in 32 oz bags and we have plenty of oats to resume baking of our popular gluten free blueberry oats muffins & blueberry oat crumb cakes. It’s hard to believe it’s that time of year again….I have to say I am excited about it being Halloween again. It gives us the opportunity to have a little fun with our creations. The store starts looking spooky with all the chocolate ghosts and pumpkins and witches. If you haven’t seen our Halloween collection yet check it out click here. We are excited to announce the launch of our new Dairy Free, Casein Free, Gluten Free Cookies. We have received a LOT of requests over the past couple of years to convert our gluten free, wheat free cookies to dairy/casein free. We have been testing them for almost a year with a select number of customers who have children with autism that follow a gluten free & casein free diet and others that follow a strict vegan diet and we believe that we have finally got the recipe to where we are satisfied that we have a great tasting dairy/casein free cookie. We decided to premier the cookies to the public at the Atlanta Gluten Free Fair this past saturday and the response was an overwhelming thumbs up from everybody who tried them. We look forward to receiving feedback about these cookies.

Longhorn Steakhouse in Chattanooga & Dalton are now offering delicious gluten free, wheat free desserts on their menu. Longhorn has been offering a number of items gluten free on their menu for a while and now you can find fresh baked desserts on the menu that we are sure you will love!!! Initially the desserts are being offered at the Longhorn restaurants in Brainerd, Hixson & Dalton, GA so if you are looking for a restaurant offering a gluten free menu in Chattanooga or Dalton don’t forget to save room for some cake!!

We’re back!!!…well we never really went away but were extremely busy working on a number of projects that have been very time consuming. I hope to find time to keep everyone up to date about what is going on at A Bountiful Harvest through the upcoming holiday season. One of the biggest things that we are most excited about is the fact that we now have gluten free fondant!! This has opened up a whole new world of cake design for us to offer. We can now offer gluten free wedding cakes, gluten free groom’s cakes, gluten free birthday cakes, gluten free baby shower cakes…the sky is the limit. Add this new element of design to our already delicious cakes…wow! We are working on getting pictures and information typed up so we can post it on the website asap. Currently these cakes are being offered for local pickup but we are also going to offer a delivery service to surrounding cities such as Atlanta, Nashville & Knoxville. We’re now working on the sugar free fondant. The test batches so far taste good but we are going to test a little more until we are completely satisfied with it.

In the meantime, we hope to see some familiar faces at the Atlanta Gluten Free Vendor Fair on October 4th. We had a great time visiting and sampling our gluten free cakes & cookies last year and meeting lots of new friends and are looking forward to going back again this year. It will be held at the same place, Doubletree Hotel in Roswell, GA and if you are able to get there we highly recommend it and hope you stop by and say hi…..oh and we will also be bringing some examples of our wedding cakes & birthday cakes! Every mom deserves some treats and pampering for Mothers Day. What better way to show your appreciate than with a box of decadent truffles or a pamper basket. Last year we were fortunate to have our Southern Belle Hat’s featured in Cooking with Paula Deen Magazine and Paula Deen chose it as her number 1 pick for Mother’s Day. Everytime we see a new product on the local store shelves that has the gluten free label we buy it with trepidation, hoping for a new delicious treat but expecting a disappointment, since that’s what we’ve become used to. Then we found in our local grocery store the RiceWorks Crisps. Wow! These things are delicious. They only carry 2 flavors Sweet Chili & Salsa Fresca and they are packed with flavor. The texture of the crisps is just right. For a snack that is gluten & wheat free and vegan friendly it is very good. Since I am not gluten intolerant I know I can eat anything but for the most part I eat everything the same as my wife just because it’s easier and it helps her. Besides a healthier all natural diet without wheat and gluten can lead to great tasty meals. Since discovering the RiceWorks crisps I have eaten other regular brands and I have to say that given the choice now I am going for Riceworks every time.
